Band 7+: Environment Many people continue to use cars and motorcycles even though they know that they are bad for the environment. Why is this? What can be done to reduce the use of these vehicles?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Nowadays, a great number of people use vehicles, even though they are aware of the terrible consequences for the environment. I believe that people keep using cars and motorcycles because they are not adequately informed of th e effects they have on nature. Also, people do not have alternativ es for less harmful transport. To address these two main issues, I have listed possible solutions below.

Firstly, I state that the government should raise citizens’ awareness by launching a certain project in schools. That is, lectures about our influence on ecology. Therefore, people could learn from an early age how vehicles affect our globe’s nature. Moreover, I argue that this kind of lecture should also be introduced to all adult citizens. Adults should be as aware as their kids. Subsequently, the whole population would not just be aware that vehicles are harmful, but would also know what exact influence vehicles have and what we should expect in the future by encouraging this pollution.

Additionally, although overall awareness could be raised, there is still no eco-positive transport for people. Due to this issue, the government should support and budget the elaboration of electrical vehicles. Instead of using fuel, cars and motorcycles can run on electricity. Replacing fuel transport with electrical one, there would be less air pollution and other threats to the environment. Furthermore, people may continue using the transport they are already used to using.

In conclusion, I have proposed two potential solutions. I speculate that with the whole population’s effort, we could mitigate the acute ecological situation that we are experiencing now, using these vehicles.
