Every year, more and more students opt for volunteering during the summer holidays. Some people claim that volunteering has beneficial impact to scholar, while others believe that this notion contains a number of drawbacks. Personally I think that volunteering has only benefits. In this essay we will examine merits and demerits of being voluntary.
The volunteering consist of several useful aspects. To commence with, it helps students socialize, show encouragement and etc. For instance, undergraduate who work at Old people’s home, orphanages, hospitals and animal shelter become humane. They will have a chance to meet individuals with various destiny, knowledge, skills, manners and experience. Consequently, they obtain these knowledge and accept good manners. They will use it in a daily life and begin support others morally, psychologically and physically. In addition, they will have a chance to communicate with people, to make a new friends, to swap and share some thoughts, experiences and ideas with them . Furthermore, they can broaden their horizons.
On the other hand, volunteering may have a number of disadvantages. The main demerit is that volunteering is unpaid job. Therefore, students, who live far from the accommodation of their voluntary job will have financial problems. Another demerit is that students may pick up serious diseases during their job in camps for refugees or at hospital. Moreover, some students allergic to animals. So they can not work as a volunteer in animal shelters.
In conclusion, To summarise all circumstances, volunteering is the one of the essential ways to gain new knowledge. As far as I concerned, this job immensely useful for students. I believe that pros outweigh any cons of it.
