In today’s technological era, fewer people prefer handwriting with a pen or pencil. This shift stem from changes and conveniences that are casued by technological advancement. Although there are advantages, I believe it has more negative consequences.
A key factor in the decline of handwriting is the increasing use of digital devices. With computers, tablets, and smartphones being the primary means of communication, typing has become a more practical alternative to writing by hand. Additionally, many schools and workplaces prioritize or require digital submissions, further reducing the role of handwriting. Another reason is the speed advantage of typing, as people can type much faster than they write, making it especially useful for students and professionals who need to take notes or prepare documents quickly.
I, however, believe drawbacks of this trend outweight positive aspects. One downside of typing more than handwriting is that it can affect our brain and motor skills. Writing by hand helps with memory and understanding as it allows to anylize what we are writing because of slower speed of handwriting while typing is more automatic and less engaging. Additionally, Overuse of digital devices for typing can also cause health problems like eye strain and wrist pain. These issues show why it’s important to balance typing and handwriting.
In conclusion, there are many reasons for declining of handwriting like advancement of technology, requiring digital submission, from my view, it may have negative effect for memorizing, understanding and causes health problems.
