We have two different types of information about water use worldwide and also water consumption in two different countries.
First on the chart we can see information about global water use by sector. In 20th century the agriculture sector was one of the most water using sector. After agriculture sector industrial usage and also domestic usage was highly used. In the first half of the 20th century water usage was nearly stable and after that time water usage was dramatically increased. For example in early 1900 agriculture sectors water usage was nearly 500 kilometer cubic, in 1950 water usage was almost doubled from early usage and in 2000s agricultural sectors water usage was nearly tripled from 1950.
Second on the table we can see that different water consumptions in Brazil and Congo in 2000. Brazil has a very large population compared to Congo, 176 million and 5.2 million with respect. Also Brazil has very developed irrigation systems, its covering about 26500 km2 area. On the other hand Congo’s irrigated land covered just 100 km2 area. From this data we can easily know that Brazil has to be higher water consumption than Congo. In fact its true that Brazils water usage per person was 359 m3 and Congo has just 8m3
