Some individuals argue that professional sports and arts in public should not be invested. Instead, the state may prioritize promoting children in school for sports. Personally, I partly agree with this statement due to several reasons that will be discussed in this essay.
On the one hand, it is understandable to believe that the national budget should be spent on encouraging children in school for sports. First and foremost, playing sports helps children de-stress and feel relaxed. In fact, a wide array of children are overwhelmed with exams. Therefore, if the government invests more money to construct sports facilities in school, children can go there and unwind after a tiring day. Furthermore, this investment not only helps children escape from pressure at school but it also improves some soft skills. Indeed, many sports require practical skills, especially team-working. As a consequence, when children play sports, they will learn how to cooperate with their partners in order to win the match. To demonstrate, research shows that many students can make new friends and gather in a group when playing football. Hence, these students may utilize this skill for their future careers as they will have to work in a team in many missions. Therefore, the government should spend more money on supporting children in schools for sports as sports have many benefits for them.
On the other hand, the government financial budget should also be allocated for professional sports and arts in public. Firstly, it is evident that professional sports are becoming more prevalent all over the world. In fact, a large number of sports, especially football attract attention from both experts and audiences. Consequently, when the state invests more money to train players or build more sports amenities for them to practice, the likelihood of joining major tournaments such as World Cup and Champions League. For instance, research shows that the number of inhabitants in the UK buying tickets for watching football matches has increased considerably in recent years. Thus, the government can earn more money if they invest in this field. Moreover, spending the national budget on professional art will attract a lot of tourists from other countries. In fact, many individuals take pleasure from pictures. Because of that, if the state allocates money to establishing museums or educating artists, they will attract many foreign travelers. By doing that, these places can become tourist attractions and earn more money from them.
In conclusion, although it is essential for the state to spend money on supporting children in school for sports, I firmly believe that their budget should also be allocated for professional sports and arts.
