Some people claim that governments have to pay more for building new houses and for improving the city’s infrastructure, rather than spending much on the restoration of older ones. In my opinion, it is more important to allocate the government resources for the establishment of newer buildings and other related facilities including public transportation infrastructure.
In the beginning, it is essential for countries to have newer houses for their residents, in order to have safer places to live in. In other words, if someone lives in a house that was built a long time ago, it might have a risk of falling. For instance, in Saudi Arabia, the government is building new houses for people residing in really old buildings. This example highlights the importance of investing in modern residences.
In addition, having strong infrastructures for the various transportation methods will result in more people using them, which will decrease the amount of toxic gases emitted to the atmosphere. When less cars are used, this can have a great impact on our environment as well as on the population’s health. A prominent example is that some developed countries are encouraging their citizens to use public transportation to save the biosphere. Therefore, what can be said is that brand-new roads are more useful for the countries and are pivotal for healthier communities.
In conclusion, after this essay has manifested the above-mentioned points, it can be witnessed that governments should invest more in what will benefit the society. I reiterate my opinion that money can be spent in many useful ways other than renewing older buildings.
