Some people find history to be a boring subject. Nonetheless, with the advancement of technology these days, history has gained more interest and is easier to learn. We will discuss some ways that technology integration into history is effective.
Incorporating teaching and learning tools into history classes is very effective. While TV and projectors are common nowadays, utilizing them to visualize and show historical events is useful. For example, with the support of these devices, teachers can present the stories or events in war via documentary films instead of text written in books only. This would help us have a morevivid look at what happened during the war. Moreover, the presentation slides shown on TVs and projectors also help us to absorb the main ideas of each lesson more easily, resulting in better memorization of the events.
Mini-games during the class also motivate people to learn history. People tend to get interested in what they are playing instead of what they are learning. There are many ways to organize mini-games related to history lessons. For example, Kahoot is a common platform where people can answer multiple-choice questions and get a reward for answering them correctly. This would motivate us to learn and find out the correct answers for historical events. Additionally, role-playing games are also a good choice for students to simulate how important characters argued and behaved in the past. This would help us to improve our critical thinking via debating about a controversial event in history.
In conclusion, even though history is a boring subject in schools, several ways have been proposed with the advancement of technology to help people find history more interesting by integrating teaching, learning tools, and mini-games in class.
