Band 7+: Housing shortages in big cities can have severe consequences. Only the government action can solve this problem.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

A growing number of individuals today express concern about whether the housing shortages trend in central areas can only be resolved by the national authorities or others who are helpless. From my perspective, I am of the opinion that this trend should not only be the government’s responsibility but also a personal one.

On the one hand, there are several reasons why people generally believe that only the government can cope with the outstanding matters completely. To begin with, the government’s basic obligations are to ensure national security and stabilize society. Clearly, prioritizing how to ensure citizens have a well-being life is crucial. It is more likely that citizens who cannot fulfill their accommodation demands will resort to breaking the law, becoming homeless, and so on. Consequently, if this trend is not addressed by the authorities, it will lead to an unbalanced society and have a negative effect on the nation’s long-term development. Secondly, as government authorities collect taxes from every working individual, they can generate a large amount of money that can be used to build more houses and apartment buildings. Generally, it is the government’s actions that play an important role in dealing with the lack of accommodation.

Even though there are numerous reasons highlighted above, I am firmly convinced that a variety of organizations can share the duty with the government, especially businessmen in construction. It is true that some non-governmental bodies manage different buildings and homes. They can request to change the purpose to allow people to live there. By way of illustration, businesses can change the purpose of their factory, which is not working and empty, to become a place for residential purposes. These small changes contribute optimistically to alleviating housing poverty. In summary, with the contributions of individuals, this trend can be changed positively.

In conclusion, the issue of whether housing shortage is solely the responsibility of the government or individuals is a controversial question. I firmly believe that it is essential to combine the contributions of citizens and the national authorities.

It is often said that urban green spaces are a luxury that cities cannot afford given the pressing need for housing and infrastructure. However, others contend that such areas are essential for the physical and mental well-being of city dwellers. Discuss both sides and provide your opinion.

It is often argued that urban green spaces, particularly in densely populated cities, should be replaced with residential buildings to address the growing demand for housing. This view is partly justified, as rapid population growth and increasing urbanisation have intensified housing shortages. However, I believe that preserving green spaces is equally important because they contribute […]
