In the contemporary era, it is becoming increasingly apparent that human activities is at the bottom of deterious effect on ecosystems, fauna and flora globally. There are some individuals who contend that this damage is irrevocable whilst others remain hopeful that pragmatic approach can still be adopted to safeguard living organism and natural environment. This essay will analyze both perspectives and give compelling justifications to clarify why I am supportive of the latter viewpoint.
On the one side, those who believe that serious repercussions of human activities on ecological community are irreversible point to the extensive deforestation, pollution,habitat destruction that have taken place. To be more specific, it is estimated that acres of forests are cleared for planting crops, building houses, leading to habitat loss, deforestation. Additionally, humans pollute the land, water and air with unwanted refuse. A report of BBC Earth has shown that in 2020 an estimated five million tons of plastic are dumped into the oceans, which lie at the heart of the deaths of countless marine animals. Furthermore, industrial waste and emissions have made major contribution to climate change, global warming.
On the flip side, advocates for the idea that steps can be still be taken to protect ecosystems and environment emphasize the importance of environmental proctection activities. Firstly, adopting sustainable practices such as eco-friendly agriculture, renewable energy can assit in minimizing the negative impact on living organisms. As a strong evidence, some western countries like Germany,Switerland, France have made significant strides in using inexhaustible resoures such as wind and solar power in lieu of fossil fuels to reduce air pollution and overexploitation of resources. Moreover, enriching people’s understanding of ecological community’s importance plays a vital role in addressing this issue. For example, in Viet Nam, local authorities frequently launch campaign to educate the public about the detrimental environmental influence of plastics, resulting in a reduction in plastic consumption, greater recycling efforts.
In conclusion, despite the argument put forth by some that the devastating consequences of human activity on ecosystems are unchangeable, it is my firm conviction that there is room for action to protect the environment and living things.It is crucial for everyone to collaborate and take responsibility for safeguarding our ecosystems and ensuring a sustainable future for all.
