There is no dying the fact that nowadays kids are addicted to new From smartphones and tablets to video games and social media, new technologies have completely transformed how children spend their free time. There is also an argument that opposes it. In my opinion, I believe that its disadvantages outweigh the advantages.
On one hand, technology offers children access to vast amounts of information and educational resources that are easy to access and with no cost. For instance, platforms like YouTube and educational apps can help them learn new skills such as coding, video editing, and foreign languages in an engaging and interactive ways. Moreover, online games and digital tools can enhance creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration when used wisely. For instance, multiplayer games often encourage teamwork and strategic thinking.
On the other hand, the drawbacks are more concerning. The excessive use of technology has reduced kid’s physical activity levels, leading to issues such as diabetes and obesity. In addition, too much screen time can negatively affect their social and emotional development, as they spend less time interacting face-to-face with family and friends. Mane young people are addicted to online games and social media, which affects their concentration and academic performance.
A study by the American Academy of Pediatrics found that children who spend more than two hours a day on screens tend to have lower grades and weaker communication skills.
In conclusion, although new technologies can support learning and creativity, it’s overuse poses serious risks to children’s health, education, and social life. Therefore, I consider that the disadvantages of this trend excede the advantages. parents should ensure that technology is used in a balanced and controlled way.
