Over the past few decades, growing concern has been raised over the gradual growth in the number of transports on the road. This essay will identify the reasons this lead and propose some solutions.
One of the main causes of the problem is considerable rose of population on the Earth. Overcrowding led to massive appearance of cars on the road in the cities. In addition, sometimes young people on the roads can be met. For example, in USA, youth who has accomplished 16 years old can get the driver license, as result increasing traffic on the road. The solution is for the government to subsidise new road construction companies making more space in the city and prohibit the opportunity to get the driver license at young age by increasing the age to 18 years old.
Another reason is that undeveloped road infrastructure. Due to weak development in some cities there are small roads in terms of width, which lead to traffic jam. Moreover, incorrect traffic light settings can also cause to road congestion whether red light is too long for drivers or pedestrians. For instance, in poor countries such as India, infrastructure is so unadvanced that 30% of all roads do not have sidewalks, thus whole road is clogged with cars and scooters. The way forward could be to fund such companies and employ highly qualified team of workers who can handle with that problem.
To sum up, traffic congestion is significant problem all over the world, which caused by considerable growth of population and an undeveloped road infrastructure. These are serious issues, and the best approaches to address them are the aforementioned solutions.
