The video cameras have become an integral part of modern life. However, there is a strong discussion on our personal privacy and decrease criminal activities. Personally, I believe that video cameras in public area is the way for reducing different offences. In the following paragraphs, I intend to support my opinion by stating arguments and examples.
To begin with, it is well known fact that closed circuit television which are installed by the government helps to find criminals, as the result make our lives more peaceful. To be more precise, cameras can capture murderers, thieves and law breakers and punish them by policemen. Furthermore, in my view, cameras offer valuable support to police to make their work easier and faster. A perfect example for this can be that if the someone’s house was invaded and was robbed, then this thief recorded by CCTV and he will soon be caught and punished.
However, I claim the view that the main disadvantages of having video recorders in local area and high cost. To be more exact, putting cameras can limit our freedom, consequently, it may be against the law. In addition, it is commonly argued that the activities of police members tend to be reduced, which is due to trust in these camera types. For instance, some people assume if the government spend money on training unemployed people, it will be a better investment and will reduce crimes eventually.
All things considered, it maybe concluded that the benefit of having video cameras in public places outweigh. We should ensure of having a safe community.
