In contemoprary society, there has been an increasing rate of obesity in children. There are various reasons to why children are overweight some of which can be linked to laziness, advancement in technology and the lack of need of regular physical activity. This essay aims to address the many causes of children related weight issues and ways to combat it.

One compelling reason as to why there are more and more obese youths can be related to the betterment of technology. As technology improves, our need to work decreases and becomes optional, this can be thought of as an inverse relationship. Thus, as children in first-world countries grow up they don’t see the need to do strenulous tasks, unlike the ones in third-world countries; therefore, they lack any kind of physical activity. One way to solve this issue is through, rigrous training regimes for those children, push by both parents and govenment. As a result, the child will have a better body. which equates to a better life.

Another reason of childhood obesity is laziness of the parent and the child. Growing up children view their parents as role models and aim to copy them in various aspects from their behaviors to their unconscious habbits. To change or to stop a child from being a sloth, his/she parent would have to change first. For instance, if a parent is a marathon runner then he or she will inspire the kid to take up cross country in school.

To conclude, the issue of overweight children is an difficult one to tackle. A few reasons for childhood obesity include laziness of bothe the parents and the child and the lack of need to have a fit body. Options to change the children include making them participate in a fitness program or being a role model who incites the kids to be more active. If this problem is not solved soon, we can expect to see a future to that from the movie “Wall-E”.
