In today’s fast-paced world, people have more access to cheap fast food. While this tendency is time and cost-effective for individuals, consuming an excessive amount of fast food contributes to health-related issues, such as obesity and digestive problems. This essay will explore whether the advantages of greater access to fast food outweigh its disadvantages.
The viable advantage of cheap and widely available fast food is its cost-effectiveness and time-saving nature. To provide further explanation, by consuming junk food, people save a lot of time due to no need of cooking, taking little time to prepare. Not only does consuming fast food offer time flexibility, but it also saves money, as fast food products are not expensive compared to home-made meals. For instance, after an intensive and challenging day, people have an opportunity to buy relatively cheap fast food items without the need of cooking, consequently saving both money and time.
While fast food offers flexibility in terms of money and time, it also brings several repercussions for one’s health. To clarify, components of fast food include an excessive amount of oil, which has several negative effects on human health. Additionally, a high-calorie food contributes to heart-related issues, thereby damaging the blood flow system. To illustrate, consuming fast food frequently leads to problems with the harmonal system due to a high-calorie intake. Therefore, widespread access to cheap fast food contributes to issues with health, irrespective of its time-saving nature and effectiveness.
In conclusion, although fast food offers time-flexibility and cost-effectiveness, I contend that its advantages do not outweigh its drawbacks, such as health-related issues.
