Worldwide, fast food is becoming more accessible as a result of low prices. Even though some might argue that junk food is bound to entail worsened well-being and therefore long-term implications such as obesity and stress, I believe it has far more benefits to offer—time-saving, benefiting those with a hectic lifestyle in particular.
Fast food popularity and availability might prove negative, admittedly. Firstly, it can have a cascading effect on health, causing obesity and stress if overconsumed, most notably among the younger generation. Simply put, the former effect, one that takes a heavy toll on the health of youngsters resulting in hyperglycemia due to the high amounts of junk food consumed, is highly detrimental, and so is the other, which might lead to depression . This is much as what is happening in major countries globally, which is especially true in America, where nearly 40% of youngsters were obese, CDC proves.
However exacerbating this tendency might be, I believe there are far more tangible benefits to consider. One of such is a huge amount of time being saved—for those people who have no spare time left, fast food can serve as the most optimal option. This provides an opportunity for busy professionals, like lawyers working late hours or entrepreneurs building their business, to dedicate their time to work-related tasks, client meetings, and networking events, rather than spending hours cooking and grocery shopping.
To sum up, although for the majority fast food is something associated as risky and harmful, my conviction is that such drawbacks largely outweighed by benefits like time saving.
