In multiple nations, authorities allocate significant funds to the arts sector. Some people argue that countries’ financial assets should be invested in other more crucial fields. In my opinion, education and healthcare are the cornerstones of any nation’s development rather than arts.
The country’s development immensly relies on the presence of highly educated citizens. When the country focuses on education, the knoweldgable citizens will be equipped with the information needed to solve the country’s problems. Moreover, they will invest in vital sectors that can assure the wellfare of the current and future generations. Japan is a pertinent example to study. The country had been destructed by nuclear bombs, however, its government was able to restore the country’s legacy by constructing schools and universities believing that the educational development of its population is the only route for sustainable development.
Furthermore, a poor quality of healthcare would impede the development of any nation. The government not only loses significant amounts of money treating sick patients but also loses its workforce when its citizens weak and sick. That’s why i believe that governments should focus on preventive medicine to ensure the health of its labor force employed in various industries. Additionally, Economic research has proven that healthcare lies at the top in the hierarchy of nation’s development domains.
In conclusion, I think that it is of utmost importance to shift governments’ spending from arts to education and health. Both sectors pave the way to sustainable growth by forming the building block of any country’s success, which is a knowledgable and healthy citizen.
