It is commonly believed that running your own business is more beneficial, than working as an employee. On the other hand, they do not recognise how many drawbacks self-employment could bring. In my essay, I will discuss the disadvantages of owning businesses. I am convinced that being an entrepreneur can be often time-consuming and shortage of choices.
In contemporary times, running your own business is sometimes an unaffordable thing with full of sacrifices. Maintenance costs, time-consuming, servicing, 24 hours working shifts and many other drawbacks could be tied with the family business. For example, establishing a small shop requires expenditures for building, or renting, which is necessary to be covered by some financial institution. Indeed, when your business is not profitable you will have immediately financial trouble.
The main drawback is the social politics of entrepreneurship. While, the employee should take off, or a sick holiday, you are going in your business, whether it is a weekend or not. In addition, employees’ off is fully payable, covered with social and health care. However, the opposition is satisfied you can afford everything plus higher profit than an employee. For instance, if your investment is successful you cannot work anymore alone, but you can hire a responsible person, who can help you reach your goals, and your own business make you free.
In conclusion, running new things is a very difficult, money, and time-consuming challenge. Many overwhelming and long processes should lead to being an employee. I firmly agree with the people, who think that being an employee is a more comfortable and easy-going way, which is not jeopardise their family.
