In contemporary society, it is often regarded that shops remaining opened until a late time is beneficial for people. However, I think this is a negative development for both the local community and shoppers.
First, the local community will have more time to spend with their families. For example, if you have a shift until very late at night, the worker will only be able to spend time with their families late at night. This creates a disadvantage not just for the workers, but also for their families. If they don’t have enough time to spend with each other, they will not be able to keep each other updated, resulting in them to feel more distant for their families.
Second, if shops are open for a long time every day of the week, there will not be a lot of time for the shops to reorganize and take time for the shops themselves. For example, changing the layout of their products. Shops constantly change their way of selling products for each season. When shops have even one day of the week free, they can spend more time on how to make the shop a better place, which is a benefit development.
Lastly, the shoppers will stay at home late at night. For instance, if shops are opened till midnight, some people would want to stay shopping until the store closes. In addition, they may start shopping from a late time. This creates more danger for people to shop becuase many crimes happen at night, and also if there’re less people, it creates an easier way for criminals to steal.
In conclusion, to spend more time with families, to make improvements in shops, and to maintain a safe environment when shopping, I believe that leaving shops open will cause detrimental effects to the future. ,
