It is often argued that plastic in general is the main cause that create the most pollution to the world. In my opinion, I completely agree with the statement that government should ban plastic bags in order to protect the environment.
Firstly, plastic is a dangerous material for our environment as it takes millions of years for it to disappear. Despite the little advantages that plastic bags bring to us, the drawback can even destroy our earth as it contain elements that can lasts through hundreds or even millions of years. Because of that when plastic bags are being thrown out it continues to stay there which can create a disaster. For example, in the river nowadays people regular throwing plastic items to the river without any thinking. As a result it created a plastic wall in the river which blocked the water to go through and make the river basically dead.
Secondly, by more and more plastic trash are being thrown in the environment it kill the animal and the ecosystem. In term of the ocean, when numerous plastic trash are floating in the ocean, it usually stuck into the fish which cause them significantly amount of damage and in the end killing it. In term of the soil, there an undisrupted fact that plastic contain numerous toxic elements. When plastic interact with the soil for along time, it then spread the toxic to the soil lead the the death of many creature living under the land and most importantly human could not grow crop on that land. Thus, plastic when enter the environment it makes everything die.
In conclusion, I believe that plastic bag and plastic items as a whole should be banned now in order to protect our environment.
