Band 5+: in many countries, the tradition of having family meals together is disappearing. why is this happening? what will the effects of this to be on the family and society?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

The tradition of having family meals together is disappearing due to factors such as social media and gaming, individuals focusing on work, and having a lazy lifestyle overall. These factors can all affect families and societies around the world.

Firstly, a few of the reasons why family dinners have been affected is technology and social media. Another cause is busy work schedules that force family members to prioritize their job making it challenging for everyone to meet at a fixed time. Finally, online food services have lead to people isolating themselves and eating in their room’s due to laziness.

Consequently, without family meals together, families will lose their valuable bonds with each other. Additionally, eating together on the dinner table as a family promotes healthier eating habits and better nutrition. Lastly, younger generations will not be able to benefit from older generations advice if they meet sparingly with one another.

Furthermore, there are wider implications on the society. For instance, family meals consists of home cooked meals which benefit a person’s wellbeing positively allowing them to be more productive. Furthermore, when a family gathers all together it creates a sense of belonging and without this it can increase stress in peoples personal lives. Ultimately, the society will be affected negatively overall as people may be affected in work which can overall critically affect the societies economy.

In conclusion, if families do not meet regularly for meals together, it may negatively influence relationships and the economy. Therefore, it is essential that family members often spend quality time together to avoid all of these difficulties and create lasting memories.
