In many countries, individuals in big cities intend to either live lonely or in nuclear family models, instead of in extended family units. From my perspective, I appraise this trend is positive by virtue of avoiding generational arguments and decreasing the economic burden for breadwinners.
Arguments in families mainly come from living together with many generations. To be specific, the old and youngsters are borned in two different times; therefore, there is a distinctness of their opinions and lifestyles which might make them feel difficult to interact with each other, so a generation gap exists and develops between them, which can lead to some serious debates whenever. As a result, living alone or in small family units is a good choice for many citizens to steer clear of disagreements.
Another reason why people prefer living lonely or in nuclear families to living in big families is to decrease the financial burden. This is because when many generations live together in a house, various types of fees also escalate. Therefore, the breadwinner has to afford more, which makes them be under stress of earning money to nurture their family. For instance, on average a large Vietnamese family group uses three times as much electricity as a small family unit does.
To conclude, in some nations, citizens would rather live alone or in nuclear family models than live in large families. I believe this statement is a positive development due to escaping disagreements between elderly people and offsprings and reducing the stress of the economy for breadwinners.
