Band 5+: In many countries today there are many highly qualified graduates without employment. What factors may have caused this situation and what, in your opinion, can/should be done about it?

The rate of unemployed graduates nowadays is a popular phenomenon in many nations. This is because of ,competitive work market among individual and lack of experience. Addressing these issues would involve the government, creating more job opportunities and providing free practical education.

On the one hand, the primary reason why graduates face unemployment is because, they lack the skills and experience. Some work such as the vocational field requires experienced professionals with the practical knowledge, most scholars are only equip with the theoretical aspect and finds it more challenging applying it in the real world, so they end up not qualifying for the work. Furthermore, there is increased number of people applying for same work position. The rate of qualified applicants are more that the available position, this end up leaving majority not getting their desire jobs.For example, A survey conducted by The Minister for Youth employment indicates that about 80% of qualified graduates are not working due to no work space to recruit .

On the other hand, some bible solutions are available to tackle this issue. Firstly , the universities and colleges should provide relevant training and practical handling during courses , so that they can be equipped with both skills. For example, The Minister of Education, has implemented free skills tuition for all graduates to sharpens their skills. Secondly , the government should provide more recruitment seats to educated individuals to replace older aged employe with younger ones. As a result , more and more deserving candidates gets jobs.

In conclusion, although high competition in the job sectors and lack of practical experience decreases the chance of getting employed, this can be resolved by providing the required training and also creating more job opportunities, to be beneficial for students to get job.
