Band 6+: In Many countries, traditional food are being replaced by international fast food. This is having a negative effect on both families and societies. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Nowadays, there are more alternatives for eating than in the past. Countries in Asia and Europe exchange food cultures with each other. In many countries, people’s interest in traditional foods has decreased significantly, which is replaced by international fast foods. The impacts of this are more varied and complicated than most people think. I comparatively agree with this statement and will conclude with my personal opinion.

First of all, when people consume international fast foods, such as KFC or BURGER KING, it will negatively affect people’ health and generate obesity, and there has been lots of research indicating violent impact of eating fast foods. Moreover, diabetes, a dangerous disease that is the cause of many people’s death, happens from consuming excessive fast foods. This is because they consist of unhealthy ingredients, such as palm oil and bad fat.

Another reason is the effects on societies. Conservation of food cultures in each country is very significant because it is one of the attractive identities of countries. As an illustration, Tom Yum and Pad Thai is a popular and delicious food in Thailand. For this reason, the number of tourists who travel to Thailand due to the need to try these foods is relatively high each year, which leads to an increase of domestic income.

To sum up, this essay indicated the important reasons why international fast foods negatively impact individuals and communities. Health of people will be destroyed by consuming fast foods, which leads to many diseases. In terms of societies, it reduces attractive identities of food culture in each country. If people still advocate eating fast foods, the negative effects will happen and affect our communities.
