It has been suggested that many people across the globe are more likely to choose international fast food, instead of traditional cousin and this has a negative effect on the society as a whole. While I acknowledge that fast food is more practical and cheap food, I agree that cultural food should not be replaced and forgotten and has a more negative sides.
Nowadays, more people spend time in work or study, so they do not have enough time to cook food. Fast food enable to order and eat quickly without spending time on cooking or money on restaurants. Moreover, fast food is very cheap and have different options, which is very beneficial for people with limited budget or low-income. For example, students and office workers are usually in hurry and eat food between lectures or meetings. Therefore, fast food is a good choice, since it offers affordability and variety of meals. Additionally, fast food restaurants often serve as social spaces, where people can gather and communicate during lunch breaks, which is beneficial to their convenience.
Traditional food is not only about eating; is a part of culture and history. Local cousin have developed for many centuries, and keep a lot of memory and knowledge of cooking. In today’s fast paced world, young generation are tend to neglect traditional customs and food, prefer eating international fast food. This, eventually lead to the disappearance of cultural roots, and individuals around the world would be consume same food. Furthermore, consuming fast food create serious health issues such as obesity and heart problems. If people would eat fast food, they would eventually face with these problems and increase illness in the country. Government should invest more funding to provide sufficient supplies for this issue, and reduce economic growth. As a result, globalization of fast food may cause more damage than good on the society.
In conclusion, indeed, fast food is very convenient for busy people, its negative effects on health, family traditions, and culture is far more significant.
