In some parts of the world, student’s absence from school due to non-reasonable grounds has become a very prominent issue, both for parents and schools. This problem can be attributed to three particular reasons : student’ disinterest in school, and their poor social circle. Such problem can hamper their long-term goals, and may promote public crime in a long term.
The discussion of truancy can be reasoned by both the school’s viewpoint, and student’s personal network. It is agreed that school activities can be quite monotone and disinterest students at times, leading them to look forward on something that attracts them more. A 10th-grade student for instance, may decide to consider in engaging with pleasure activities such as karaoke or shopping rather than attending class, after almost a year of high-school lives. Additionally, students’ close friends’ influence play a significant role in them for being compliant or not.
Most will argue that truancy brings a deep impact on children’s personal development. They may become more difficult to get disciplined at, leading to struggle functioning as an adult. Furthermore, it seems that society may become resist towards these kids presence, leading to a wide public rejection, which at worse, can pressure them to commit crime. Such cases are quite common when we consider most of convicted felons had trouble during their school years especially when it comes to attending class.
In conclusion, truancy can be viewed as originated from both the school’s circumstances, and children’s personal connection. Regardless the one who is being responsible, the impact of such non-compliant attitude can afffecting both student’s personal development, and their community acceptance in a wider scope.
