Nowadays, young people migrate to urban areas from their remote hometowns on the purpose of learning or seeking for job opportunities. From my perspective, this can be attributed to unique resources given by cities and its advantages never outweigh the drawbacks.
It is quite reasonable for the young to leave their homes in the rural areas. In terms of studying, cities offer superior educational resources, meaning that people are provided with easier access to prestigious universities, experienced teachers, and convenient academic advancement. Such advantages positively contribute to their personal development, while learning in remote regions, to some extent, only offers them limited horizons. Moreover, cities are equipped with more completed infrastructure. Take healthcare for example, with most hospitals and pharmacies located in cities instead of countryside, urban residents obviously acquire benefit from this convenience as there is neither shortage in medicine nor unavailability of doctors, whereas no corresponding welfare is offered in remote areas.
It should be admitted that this social phenomenon brings potential benefits to the development of cities. As more people leave their homes to pursue their aspirations, labor force in the job market becomes sufficient, which helps allocate human resources while business owners recruit talented employees. However, this movement impairs the sake for ordinary people who live in urban regions for the reason that more severe overpopulation induces a larger amount of issues, including the time delay for commuters caused by traffic congestion, skyrocketing housing prices, and laid-off due to fierce occupational competition. Besides these basic ones, disparity between cities and countryside is an inevitable outcome. This regional discrepancy stimulates followers to behave similarly, which intensifies the shortage of labor force in rural areas.
In conclusion, sufficient resources in the urban area contribute to the migration of young people, which widens the development gap between cities and countryside.
