It is obvious that juvenile crimes are increasing in many parts of the world. This trend can be attributed to a whole host of reasons, and some feasible solutions should be taken into account to tackle this.
There are many causes of this condition. First is the lack of attention from parents. Because of being too busy, it is hard for modern parents to pay attention to their children. Therefore such children will easily fall into crimes, starting from minor crimes pickpocketing, for example, and then they would form a lot of bad habits. Secondly, by watching violent movies and idolizing people who make those bad contents, teenagers are greatly influenced and even become addicted to them. To be specific, young people who are exposed to violent content tend to imitate the bad behaviors of those famous people through their popularity on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube. The widespread appearance of these bad actions have a detrimental impact on teenager’s understanding.
With this growing situation, parents as well as the government need to take appropriate measures to educate and dissuade children. First, adults should pay more attention to the kids, be a good listener, talk openly with them and show them their mistakes to avoid bad situations from happening. For the government, they must have some lenient punishments for juvenile delinquents such as: do community service or fine on the spot. Moreover, the state can also educate children about the consequences of breaking the laws in school in order to reduce the rate of criminals at the young ages.
