In recent days , a lot of youngsters are involoved in socail media in their free time. this is mainly because socail media provide entertainment and it makes connection betwwen people.However, I believe that excessive use of social media is a negative development.
Firstly,there are several reasons why young people spend their free time on socail media.These type of platforms provide them entertainment. Young people can watch short videos, listen to music ,follow the trends and communicate with long distance friends whenever they have free time.Nowadays, people are enjoying by making contents and post on social media . Consistent posting on social media can make their economic condition better as well. Socail media help them in studies.For example: a university can watch a videos on youtube for effective learning. Sometimes the online classes are more clear than physical classes. In addition, social is a platforms where people can show their talent and interest freely. By doing these type of activities people earn money, followersand reputation at the same time.
Secondly,despite these benefits, I believe that more use of social media negatively affects on young people. It can affect on the concerntration and the productivity .A students who watch reels and check notification frequently are more affected. Another disadvantage is that excessive online interaction can reduce face to face communication. For example: a student who spend several hours scrolling through social media everyday may have less time for studying, excersing and interacting with family memebers. A person might be affraid of socialization in future as well.
In conclusion, young people spend more amounts of time on social media because it offers entertainment and helps them maintain social connections. I believe that excessive use is more harmful than beneficial because it can reduce productivity.
