Our world is full of modern developments which crucially improve the quality of our lives making them much more convenient and easier. One of such unfoldings are e-books which became more popular than habitual paper ones. This shift has sparkled a debate about benefits and drawbacks of such technological trend which I would like to explore in this essay.
On the one hand, e-books have a huge range of appreciable advantages. One of the most significant of them is the portability: lucky users of the innovation can carry them anywhere they want without any complications. Other merits we cannot forget about are cost effectiveness and environmental impact. All of these criterias notable alleviate the usage of e-books.
On the other hand, such books have some disadvantages which slightly decrease the convenience of them. For example, the screen size of an e-reader is relatively small, making it difficult to read large texts. Additionally, e-readers are not as easy to read in direct sunlight as traditional books. And obviously they lead to screen fatigue and eye strain, which can be uncomfortable and harmful over prolonged periods.
To conclude, the benefits of e-books outweigh their disadvantages, making them crucially popular among readers in the digital age. As technology continues to improve, e-books are likely to displace paper books in a couple of decades.
