Whether the idea of riding bicycles instead of cars is good or not has become a global topic for debate. Some proclaim that bicycles cannot offer the options that cars can. I, considering the damage from exhaust gases coming out of transport, believe bicycles are better, since bicycles assist people not only physically but also mentally.
To begin with, there are several factors that might motivate individuals to prefer cars over bicycles. First and foremost, comfort is an important factor. Cars are more comfortable because they have seats, air conditioning and protect from rain, snow and heat. However, bicycles are not capable of offering that convenience. In addition, speed, in other words, Cars can usually travel much faster, especially over long distances. Bicycles are generally more suitable for short distances. Another major reason is time pressure, to illustrate, individuals with busy schedule, tend to opt to utilize cars in order to save some time.
By contrast, there are benefits coming out of riding bicycles. For instance, currently, a significant proportion of the world’s population suffers from obesity, and regular cycling can help people maintain a healthy weight especially in the western part of the world, and it has been already proved that consistently riding bicycles might assist them in many ways. Another huge benefit is reduction of air pollutions, in other words the amount of gases produced by vehicles will decrease significantly, proving us with fresh air. Cycling also saves money. People do not need to spend money on fuel, parking or expensive car maintenance. And these are the factors that encouraging countries such as Germany and Japan to use bicycles instead of cars.
In general, even transportations like cars assist people in many ways the damage they are making is undeniable, thus some regions are choosing cycles, since there are much more benefits that are lying ahead.
