I do agree with the fact that in some countries, increasing number of people are suffering from health problems as a result of eating too much fast food. This is so because the access of such fast food is so easy to everyone that is mostly consumed too much. I do not completely support with the idea of government imposing higher taxes in this kind of food.
Imposing higher taxes in this kind of food is also a right measure, but more importantly it is necessary to teach and guide people about the fact that how harmful can it be to oneself if such food is consumed a lot. The people who have the money and the resources will still pay and consume such food in bulk. It should be widely taught to people about the potential hazards of consuming fast food in bulk, people never realise that why these foods are being sold at such a less amount, it is so because the production cost of these products is already very low and on top of that these foods are consumed and bought in bulk by people.
There are some other measures that the government could take. The potential buyers of such junk foods are college and school children, so the government should restrict the sales of such items at school and college campus. Education of such junk foods should be given at primary age only and these children should know that the concentration of sodium in such food is so high that it may result in obesity in the near future.
