It is widely acknowledged that there is a surging number of young teenagers in today’s society who tend to refuse classical music concerts or play classical music. In this essay, I will demonstrate the emergence of factors contributing to this phenomenon. From my perspective, young generations should be encouraged to listen to the genre of music they want.
The main reasons for this situation is that people find no intersted when either attending classical music or learning to play this type of music. In fact, music nowadays is diverse in genres, and classical music is no longer the dominant role like in the past. Another pronounced merit is that current music genres generally follow the market trend which is more suitable for the masses than the old music type. To be more specific, the K-pop wave is unbeatable in VietNam, with almost all teenagers having listened to this at least once.
In addition, it is not necessary to encourage young individuals to follow classical music due to the unstainable common taste and particular value in daily life. According to some academic research, music is likely to benefit people’s mental health, not only by managing difficult emotions but also by dealing with anxiety. Moreover, for those who have a heightened sense of music, classical music is a good way for them to either foster talented or career orientation with music.
In conclusion, while there are some justifications for considering young individuals’ involvement in rich cultural heritage of classical music, I would contend that following passion will derive the most benefit from this situation.
