Nowadays, people in numerous countries have their first child at an older age. There are several reasons behind this phenomenon and personally, I believe the advantages are far more beneficial than the disadvantages.
One of the primary reasons why people are having their first child later than in the past is nurturing pressure due to the rising cost of living. At the present, almost of everything are expensive, therefore it leave a heavy financial burden on young parents. For example, modern children are expected to have sufficient education from schools to have stable occupation, which makes their parents struggle to earn enough money for this intention. Moreover, today’s young people tend to enjoy the comfortable life so they are more likely protect their freedom. As a result, they do not choose having a child at an early time. For instance, parents find it easy to engage in physical activities regularly without children, but after having a child they have difficulty doing their leisure favourite activities.
From my perspectives, there are some undeniable merits of this phenomenon, while there are a few remain downsides. Firstly, having a child at an old age will enhance chances for parents to earn a sufficient amount of money for nurturing. Consequently, parents will be more likely to spend more time to teach their offsprings. However, between old parents and young children there will be a age gap that makes differences in opinion.
In conclusion, it is clear that having a child at an older age are caused many reasons such as nurturing pressure and trend of comfortable life. There are some drawbacks of this phenomenon, however I believe that the advantages are ought weigh the disadvantages.
