The idea of teaching oversea languages for pupils studying in elementary schools is gaining more popularity in various countries. While this has admittedly certain drawbacks, I would contend that there are outstripped by the benefits.
On the one hand, students in primary school study foreign languages can be disadvantageous in a certain extent. One clear drawback is that children can be easier to forget their mother tongue. This is because they spend almost their everyday in school excepting saturdays and sundays, especially at night, they do not have time to communicate with parents because they are still at officeworks. Another disadvantage could be that they will be pressure because of the schedules. This means that elementary’s students are on the way to learn many subjects including literature, but they still have to learn English. It leads to they do not have much square time to do whatever they want to. For example, through some articles, many pupils studying in international schools can not speak fluently Vietnamese due to only using English almost their time, and some have to learn at night to make sure they have good scores in school.
On the other hand, I firmly believe that the aforementioned disadvantages pale in significance when compared to the benefits of elementary’s pupils learning overseas languages. it is essential to note that knowing more languages could help children access to branches of knowledge. firstly, information is always updated on the internet, by knowing English, the most popular language, they can easily read and understand clearly whatever they want without using any tools. Secondly, children who lived in developing nations can make use of it to study abroad in developed countries, which have better programs and facilities to experiences. Moreover in an era defined by rapid technological advances and interconnected international businesses, they expect employees who have expertise in more languages, and this is the huge opportunities for them.
In conclusion, despite certain of drawbacks of teaching another languages for students studying in primary schools, I am of the opinion that its benefits are far more significant.
