Band 6+: In some countries, there has been an increase in the number of advertisements which try to persuade children to buy snacks, toys, and other goods. Parents often claim that these ads are unfair. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In some nations, the enormous of advertisements, aimed at kids, rose dramatically, in order to motivate them to buy stuff. Parents argued that these kinds of ads are not fair. In my perspective, I strongly agree with this notion and my opinion will be discussed in further paragraphs with a suitable conclusion.

There are a few reasons why I think a large amount of ads, that goal children, are unfair. Firstly, most of the kids are not aware of commercials, so any ad can influence them because they do not have the skills that help them to determine which product meets their needs. Although kids do have not enough experience with ads, some companies use advertising to contaminate their minds with wrong thoughts. So, some companies exaggerate in ads to manipulate kids and achieve financial aims. A recent study in Jordan found that 45% of stuff bought by kids as a result of, exploiting the marketing companies for nescience points.

Another important reason is that advertisements affect on parent-child relationship. Ads targeting children may increase parent-child conflict if the parents deny something a child wants to get. Many ads are created by fast food and junk food companies that target children’s eating habits. Moreover, increased consumption of everything from candy to snacks and fast foods has been noted in children as a result, thereby increasing a child’s risk of becoming obese or developing diabetes, along with many other health problems.

To sum up, I believe that ads manipulate children’s minds, so these advertisements aimed at kids should be controlled or even banned because they have a lot of negative impacts on them.
