The appropriate age to have children is often a controversial topic that is argued continuously. Some partners consider not having kids when they are young and decide to delay this until they get older; because they think the it is advantageous. In this essay I will argue that although delaying parenthood may seem beneficial, the negative consequences overweigh the advantages.
One reason that encourages the vast majority of partners to delay parenthood is that they are not ready finacially. The expenditures of childbirth are quite high in some countries such as the United States where all healthcare centers are private and there is no funding by the government. As a result, many parent simply cannot afford having a child. Furthermore, youth individuals often lack the responsibility to raise kids. For example, many cases of a mother forgetting her baby in inaproppriate places, such as in a groceries store, have been recorded.
However, several studies have proven a direct relation between the numerous numbers of birth defects and delayed age pregnancy. Down’s syndrome, for instance, has a higher occurance possibilitiy for infants born for older mothers. In addition, gestation difficulties are also present in mothers whose ages are above 35 years. Moreover, the age difference between the parents and their kid is significant, leading, sometimes, to misunderstanding of the kid’s behaviors and nature due the relatively big age difference between the mother or father and the child.
In conclusion, some couples believe that delaying kids is good for them, yet there are many ambiguous drawbacks . Health issues and enormous age difference are examples.
