Band 6+: In some developing countries, it is difficult to get good teachers to work in rural areas which can have a negative impact on the education of children in those rural communities. Why do you think good teachers do not want to work in rural areas in developing countries? What could be done to solve this problem?

In few economically developing nations, it is hard for satisfactory teachers to migrate and work in the countrysides. This could have a defective impact on the learning experience of the young ones in the rural areas. I will be discussing the reasons why do not want to work in countrysides and what could be done to mitigate and resolve this issue.

To begin with, the negative impact of these probem is that children are likely to lose interest in education therefore exposing them to social vices. The major reasons why it is difficult for them to move and teach in the rural are poor transportation, poor salary and lack of inadequate teaching facilities. Teachers find it challenging relocating from the cities to the villages with their family and often times commuting from the urban to rural areas can be expensive and time consuming. Secondly, teachers are the most underpaid occupation in many developing countries. This has resulted to many of them owning businesses and part time jobs, which many of them cannot abandon to teach in the rural areas. Moreover, the government hardly equip most of the schools in the villages with enough learning facilities thereby making adaptability hard for teachers.

To tackle this issue, investing in buses dedicate to convey the teachers to school will solve the issue of poor or delayed transport system. This is because it will facilitate punctuality and enhance dedication to work as they do not have to worry about the cost of commuting to work. Furthermore, teachers in the rural areas should be paid a significant amount of salaries and insurance, this could motivate and simulate others to work in rural areas. Finally, the government should fund these rural school with adequate facilities like the ones in the urban schools. This will help the teachers to convienently teach the students the theoretical and practical aspects without stress.

In conclusion, I think the government can mitigate the negative impact on the education by establishing a good transport system, paying the rural teachers more than the urban ones and equipping these schools with adequate learning tools and infastructures.
