In some parts of the world traditional festivals and celebrations have disappeared or are disappearing.

What problems is this causing?

What measures can be taken to control this situation?

Around the world many nations are losing or have already lost their ethnic celebrations. It is important to understand why traditional events are going extinct and prevent it by taking needed steps before many communities left uncultured.

Not having enough education about ethnicity is the main reason for disappearance of the traditions. Young generation do not understand the importance of the traditional festivals as nowadays urbanization percentages are high so many of them live in cities and prefer to stay at home rather than traveling around their country and experience what is left of tradition. Additionally, in the world of technology not enough information can be found on the internet. Meanwhile, high proportion of the population is chronically attached to technological devices. Also, mostly history of the country can be learned in school lessons while, tradition and history is connected.

There are many ways to make the population more aware of their traditional celebrations. Firstly, celebrations should be done by governments funds in the cities which has the highest rate of urbanization. Community’s attendance in the process must be obligatory and the ones who helped the most should be rewarded. Secondly, more documentaries of the celebrations need to filmed and telecast to television and internet in order to gain awareness. Finally, minors should be well informed about traditional festivals from school. Because when they grow old they will pass down the information to the next generation.

In conclusion, disappearance of the traditional celebrations and festivals is a major problem and it is not too late to prevent it with the help of government, by education and raising awareness.
