In the modern world, with the development of physical and mental life, people tend to live longer than to have.
So, what longevity cause? Firstly, the government have to pay more pension for people who live longer without working. This will make governmental budgets more and more declining and reduce money in taxes. For example, if they work longer, they will pay more money in taxes. Secondly, need for healthcare and medical facilities increase as a result of disease and weak health of old people. At the age after 60, their health become weaker and they suffer from diseases which is impossible for them to work. Another effect is a decrease in population. People who live with their old parents have to take care of them so that they can’t have enough time to have their own family, which they can’t give birth.
To address this issue, the government need to have some practical and efficent solutions. First, they should increse in retirement age and encourage people to work dedicatedly with their job. By doing this, the government can be less worried about the insufficent budget that is used for pension. Second, it is important for the government to update facilities for healthcare to improve old people’s health. Finally, the government should encourage the immigration of working people who make more contribution to increase taxes. This will easily handle the lack of productivity that comes from old people.
In conclusion, increasing average life expectancy wouldn’t be too big problems if we can deal with them as soon as possible.
