It is shared that in the near future vehicles like: trucks, cars will become driverless and passengers will have to rely on high technology to get to their destination. This may have multiple beneficial sides but it will come with the drawbacks.
As we know, nowadays drunk drivers are getting more and more common and the death rates from car accidents are rising sharply as the days go by. Thus, to prevent these accidents from happening, having high technology drive our vehicles will insure the passengers a safer and comfortable ride to their destination. This idea overall will surely make a huge difference for the public and the car production. Even if adjusting to the idea that having a car drive on its own will be scary, I am sure it will take little to no time to convince the public to have trust in the auto drive cars. Moreover, when driving to a far place like: a city to another city it may take 3-4 days depending on the place, therefore it can be hard for the driver to get enough sleep and focus on the road. And now having high technology drive for your car, all the passengers can relax and only think about their trip and what do they want to do when they get there.
On the other hand it is well known that not all technologies are perfect and they can have their problems as well. Smart cars will usually work with interactive maps to figure out what places they need to go to and these places over the years will develop for example: new streets, new stores and sometimes maps won’t get updated as much if those changes happen often. This can confuse the computer and become much of a bigger problem in the near future. Not only technologies can break down they are also extremely high costing. For example the current smart cars known well is the car called Tesla. Tesla is an electricity using car and it has its own auto driving mode and other extra features that any other car models would not own, this results in the Tesla model being on the much more expensive side.
Taking everything to account, having driverless cars may look futuristic it can have risks to the human life but these will all depend on the future engineers and car developers.
