Band 7+: in the future, more people will choose to go on holiday in their own country and not travel abroad on holiday. do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In the coming few years, more people will spend their holidays in their own country rather than travelling to foreign countries. I find myself agreeing to this viewpoint believing that domestic tourism can offer the new adventures, explore the natural wonder and untouched environments.

One significant reason for the predicted rise in domestic tourism is due to more and more recognition of the country’s attraction, historically famous places and hidden natural wonders within one’s own country. All of these attractions, places and beauties seem to be forgotten by the people as they decided to travel abroad during their holidays in the past. However, these places have come into attention of the people when the adventurer and explorer started sharing their experience in their social media. As people become more aware of these opportunities, domestic travel has become booming to explore and appreciate their own heritage.

Moreover, another notable reason people are keen to domestic travel is because of the global pandemic infection. Due to the harsh and deadly nature of Covid 19 virus infection, people are restrictive to tightened lifestyle and forced to adapt to work from home. International travel is banned in certain country and what people want most during this time is travel. Affordable and easy to travel option encourage people to travel domestically after the release of the restriction.

Even though these factors support the idea of surge in domestic tourism, the international travel will not be diminished entirely as it offers new experience, diversity, incredible food and scenery, culture exchange, people will still choose to travel internationally. However, the balance may be shifted, especially when people’s desire for discovering the countryside is undeniably aware.

In conclusion, the future holds the promise of increased domestic tourism as people become more attracted to their country natural, cultural and historical heritage and seek cost effective options travel. This shift can be seen as a positive trend, fostering a deeper connection to ones’ homeland and contributing to the growth of local tourism industry.
