In time to come, individuals will have less working hours at their jobs than they have now. As we are living in a world where technology is getting better day by day, the time we spend on a task is also getting shorter which results in completely more tasks than before. This essay agrees that in future, people will work lesser than they do now.
Firstly and foremost, in this digital era, a lot of work that was done manually are getting replaced by software which results in employees having to spend lesser time for completing a task. For example, in the past, if one had to apply for visa to visit a country, people had to do a lot of paperwork, however, now those paperworks are all digitalised and the application can be processed in a day and in certain countries within 2 hours. Therefore people find it easier to work with than going through a lot of hustle.
In a research held at University of Japan, people showed better productivity, working 4 days a week than 5 days. Employees have reported that lesser working hours gives them chance to spend time with family, prioritise their health and also come back to office in a refreshed mind every week. As a result, a lot of companies in Japan and now all around the world have started adopting 4 days work-week as it results in happier employees, better productivity rates, lesser burnouts and minimal employee retention.
In conclusion, with the help of advanced technology and lesser work week, people tend to show positive response to working lesser working hours and people are happy and a lot of work is getting done faster than expected.
