The question of whether being famous has to trade off their privacy remains a subject of debate. While accepting to lose private rights to gain attention from the media, I am of the opinion that every individual should be respected with human rights to ensure privacy.
Proponents of the viewpoint that privaecy is not necessary as celebrities seek media attention to promote their career. This means that they use social media as a tool with millions of followers to update their personal activities to find the attention audience. By accepting that sharing their personal activities on social platforms, they may have to receive numerous interactions and comments about their posts in both positive and negative ways, resulting in a huge amount of attention and therefore, they may get more opportunities to collaborate with different brands.
Not with standing these arguments, I am inclined to believe that famous people are entitled to the same basic rights as any other individual. There are many cases of some idols being followed by their fans to private acommodation or the numerous phone calls disturbing at nights because famous people’s private information is leaked or even traded among the fan community. As a result, both the physical and mental health of celebrities are affected seriously because they do not have any private time for themselve. Therefore, the government should launch protective private human regulations and heavy fines to not only tackle this issue but also educate humans about respecting others.
In conclusion, while valid arguments exist in favour of accepting invasion of privacy, I contend that the human rights of privacy of each person should be respected regardless of famous people.
