Although it is true that certain exhibits can be explored virtually, I completely disagree with the notion that museums have become redundant.

This is largely because accessing knowledge online is more convenient and cost-effective compared to traveling to distant museums. For instance, detailed accounts of the Yoruba tribe’s traditions and history can be easily found on educational websites, eliminating the need to visit the historical town of Ile-Ife, where authentic artifacts and cultural relics are preserved. Nonetheless, viewing images or reading articles online cannot replicate the immersive experience of standing before genuine historical objects.
Despite the convenience of digital information, visiting museums remains invaluable for several reasons. This sensory experience deepens understanding and leaves a lasting impression, far beyond what virtual images can provide.
