There is a growing trend where knowledge was gained from books in the past, whereas today knowledge is available on the internet. Yielding certain drawbacks such as information on the internet may not be reliable. Nevertheless, I firmly believe that the adavantages such as a wide range of information and obtain knowledge in a short period of time are far more profound and ultimately outweigh the negatives.
One undeniable downside of internet-based information is sometimes people come across unreliable information on websites. In today’s world, where online sources have become a major way for most people to access information and consolidate their knowledge. However, it is not unlikely that people may come across inaccurate information on a number of websites. For example, various site owners may copy some information from each other and to avoid revealing that they copied the information, owner may add some extra words and information or even remove them. Consequently, information may lose its accuracy. That is why, level of unreliable information is increasing on websites.
Despite this disadvantage, I still believe that internet sources can bring more positive consequences. One major benefit is a large amount of information is available on the internet. These days most people can find answers to their questions across various fields, thanks to a wide range of information on the internet. For instance, there are number of special websites or even some applications related to medical, educational and other various fields. So people can easily access a wealth of information and do some exercises, practice tests or watch video lessons through these websites and applications. Therefore, online information are effective in obtaining a wide range of knowledge.
Another primary benefit is acquiring knowledge from the internet is time-saving. Most people consider that getting useful and urgent information from thick books or other multi-page paper-based documents wastes a considerable amount of time. Therefore, most people prefer to obtain infromation from the internet because of its time-saving aspect. For example, instead of searching through books for information, people can access information within a few minutes by using search engine. As a result, they can save their time. So internet sources help people to save their time.
In conclusion, although some unreliable information on the internet, I strongly contend that positive sides including a vast amount of information and time-saving aspect outweigh the negative sides.
