It is evident that dependance on technology for everyday chores is becoming an increasingly prevelant concern in this modern society. This essay will examine the challenges associated with diminishing basic skills with relavent examples.

One of the primary reasons in elimination of day-to-day skills is the over dependance on the electronic gadgets. Technological advancements introduced several machines to make time consuming obiquitous tasks more efficient. For instance, with the introduction of automatic roti maker, individual do not prefer to learn cooking as they use the machine and get hot roti without putting any efforts. Because of that adults nowadays do not have the basic knowledge to cook. Furthermore, today’s busy lifestyle do not leave room for doing self repairs and stitching garments. This can be seen in western countries where both men and women work and manage children. Strict deadlines and balancing office and home, barely leave them with any time in which they can acquire new skills. Thus, it become convenient to call a professional plumber to do repairs than doingit themselves.

Moving forward, nations where there is one working professional in the house, family tend to have more manual skills as compared to the houses where all the members are employed. For example, in India, majorly male are the bread earners in a family and females focus more on weaving, cooking and making their own cloths. Hence, increase the possibilty of their children to learn the similar skills.

In conclusion, although new innovations and gadgets has made everyday life easier, it is also beneficial to have the skills to accomplish necessary chores manually such as reapirs and stitching. Therefore, a careful consideration is required so that people do not loose the skills required in daily life.
