In these days, allocating a year to live or study abroad becoming increasingly popular. While the cost of living or studying abroad may be too high, I personally believe that it is worth investing time and money, as it broadens horizons and improves networking.
On the one hand, spending time in other countries requires high amount of money. To be specific, people have to pay their flight tickets, rents, visa documents, and so on. For example, flight ticket from Uzbekistan to the USA, which many people’s main preference, costs 550 dollars, rents somehow around 500 dollars, and visa documents almost 600 dollars. Because of this, some people may prefer allocating this amount of money on other advantageous things like studying, initiating a business, or maybe donating to charities.
On the other hand, allocating a year and money on living and studying has opportunities that outweigh its downsides. One of the main benefit is that by traveling overseas, people can broaden their horizons. To be specific, by observing other culture’s lifestyle, political and economic procedure, or participating exchange programs, travelers can enhance knowledge and horizons. Another point is that they may get a great opportunity to enhance the networking, which helps them to learn from others experiences, insights, and sometimes mistakes. Again during tough times, such as career challenges, decisions, having people to lean on is powerful tool.
In conclusion, although living or studying abroad can be expensive, the benefits it brings are far more valuable. Experiencing new cultures, gaining fresh perspectives, and building international networks not only expand one’s knowledge but also create lifelong opportunities. Therefore, investing a year abroad is a wise decision for personal and professional growth.
