Nowadays, due to the competitiveness in the world, it is thought that both parents should work. Some people consider this beneficial for sons and daughters because of the increasing financial stability, while others argue that it might negatively impact them by reducing parental support. This essay agrees that families where both parents are working offer more advantages to the children, such as greater financial resources.
To begin with, when both mother and father work, they earn more money, providing greater opportunities for their sons and daughters. For example, they can afford a tutor or extracurricular activities that a child desires. This will contribute substantially to the children’s future because, thanks to additional income, it will be feasible to broaden the horizons of a child’s mind in education, sports, and other areas of life. Moreover, working parents can still spend quality time with their sons and daughters by going to places of entertainment, for instance, amusement parks or zoos.
In contrast, when both mother and father work, children may feel isolated and deprived of emotional support due to the limited time spent with them. They might believe that their parents do not need them, leading to alienation and a reluctance to confide in them. For instance, my friend has parents in the business sector, who spend the majority of their time at the office. She sometimes complains that she needs their support, but they do not provide it. Although she still loves them, she prefers to share her problems with her friends instead.
In conclusion, although the situation where both mother and father work has its drawbacks connected to the alienation of children, parents might achieve a work-life balance and spend their free time with sons and daughters. Thanks to the financial aspect, they can also spend more money on the needs of children to make their lives fulfilling.
