There is a view that anybody with a smartphone can capture and share photographs, and this accessibility diminishes the value of professional photographers. Although such a view may be correct in some ways, I still believe that professional work cannot be replaced.
It is true that mobile phone camera can be used to take various kinds of photographs, and can be convenient to share photos easily which reduces the need to hire a professional photographer for basic occasions. In nowadays world, even photo editing has not become a problem, there are plenty of digital tools which help make the quality of photographs higher, retouche the person on the photo, and even remove excess people in the background making photos look more attractive and professional.
However, professional photographers still play an important role in modern society. They possess technical expertise, creative vision, style and professional equipment that allows them to produce high quality photos which cannot always be achieved with a smartphone. For important events such as weddings, receptions, business events, people prefer to hire a professional rather that capturing everything with a smartphone, to ensure perfect results. In addition, professional photographers have a creative vision and quality technology which most of the times cannot be replaced neither with a mobile phone camera or online editing tools. While smartphones reduced the demand for photographers in certain situations, theyv still cannot replace professional work.
In conclusion, while smartphones made taking photographs easy and accessible for everyone, they are unlikely to replace professional work ever. Experts in this field offer technical knowledge, professional editing and ensure excellent outcome of the photos, making their work irreplaceable.
