Nowadays, in many nations around the word, well-known people are considered ideal role models and this has considerably affected the younger residents. In my opinion, the given assumption leads to both positive and negative development and in the following essay I will present my ideas before giving a conclusion.
On the one hand, people who get famous by sharing things their valuable life lessons or doing humanitarian work can help the youngster develop positively. Young residents especially teenagers and adolescents are not old and experienced enough to understand if they are right or wrong in their actions. By learning and following these types of famous people, the youth can widen their knowledge, have more skills to deal with such bad situations in their daily life. For example, some online teachers show methods to solve difficult exercises or psychologists provide information on how to behave correctly and politely in many cases on the Internet. As a result, our society may need more these kinds of people so that young generation can be more mature and well-developed.
On the other hand, some individuals get popular by creating drama, scandals and sharing their bad lifestyle may affect negatively to the younger generations. Nowadays, we can easily see young users on the Internet argue toxically about the drama of a famous actor or singer. This is not only a waste of time but also influence their mental health a lot, they may feel sad or even refuse to communicate because of their idols’ scandals. In addition, young people can even spend hours concentrating on their devices to track the drama uselessly instead of going outside to play sports or having a walk. Moreover, videos with inappropriate content like bullying or racing illegally on the Internet can get viral really fast and this can cause the young users to learn and follow.
In conclusion, while some celebrities inspire young people through their valuable knowledge and humanitarian activities, others who gain fame from scandals and negative behavior can have a harmful impact on the youth. Therefore, it is crucial for both the media and parents to guide young audiences in choosing positive role models, so that they can develop healthy values and attitudes toward life.
